Roadmap
-
Next version of firmware and node database (nodewatcher).
Main goals:
- better support for multiple projects and admins (privileges, admin interface)
- decouple/abstract image building (so that it is easy to use OpenWrt, Ubiquity or even some other custom firmware)
- move node database (nodewatcher) features to extendable plugin system and use common schema also internally
- support for UMTS and PPPoE uplink
- support for AP and client mode (for point-to-point links)
- support for AP nodes without OLSR
- support for different versions of the firmware at the same time (stable/unstable)
- use EoIP instead of (or in preference to) VPN (which is CPU bound on many current nodes)
-
Ideas for the future, which we could do sooner or later (ehm, this is, when we find somebody to do it, so... feel free to volunteer!).
-
Prva verzija Image flasherja. Stabilna verzija.
Osnovni cilji:
- vse od 1.0b
- stabilnost in preizkušenost, mogoče tudi testi delovanja
-
Izpopolnjen Image flasher. Testna (beta) verzija.
-
- Basic GuiLib functions and platform views with "native look and feel".
- Support for connecting to existing ad-hoc mesh networks or creating a temporary network.
- Robust collection/sharing of mesh network data.
-
- Enhanced GUI functionality, usability options and platform appearance.
- Robust mechanisms for logging application debug information and mesh network connectivity/usage data, which can be optionally shared with application developer.
- Ability to enable experimental "advanced" features useful for testing custom low-level configuration and troubleshooting node deployment on a live mesh network.
- Core functionality is stable and ready for release.
-
Milestone: MeshApp – Future
No date set
- Official support for MeshApp on Android by Google!
- Additional support for routing protocols other than OLSR.
- Other GUI interfaces for MeshApp (console, web, Windows native, Mac OS X native).
- Include a "friends list" so that MeshApp can remember certain nodes that the user regularly interact. Keep track of friends on the network.
- Improve "expert features" to include useful tools for deploying, debugging and repairing nodes on an active mesh network.
-
Milestone for firmware and node database (nodewatcher) tickets we will do but do not know when.
Some ideas:
- support for IPv6
- remote node upgrade
- custom/matrix/cross view of nodes' data
- in-depth (with calculations) monitoring and statistics of the network and plots/visualizations of this calculations
- upgraded node map with tools
- support for multiple interfaces on the same node and multiple nodes on the same location
- support for N standard
